36th Malaysia Bon Odori

Bon Odori was last Saturday. Wanted to write about it earlier but was too lazy, and drag until now...

On that day, I was planning to go from my house about 4.30pm, but was delayed because bidding an equipment in Diablo 3 Auction House. I start my journey about 5.30pm. I roughly browse through Google Map about the direction, then I set my GPS and start driving. After I pass through the toll station, my GPS is acting weird, as in the further I go the distance is getting even far. After awhile, I realized that I set a wrong destination on the GPS. The destination place was set to my previous destination when I last use my GPS, which is Jalan Imbi. For a moment, my mind was blank and I started to panic. Well, luckily I still can remember the directions of Google Map I saw before I leave my house, and I start looking for the landmark I saw on the map, which is Proton. After awhile, I found it successfully and I set the destination again when I stopped at the traffic light. When I set the destination again, it's only 2km away, while the wrong destination was showing 50km away. When I get into the roundabout, it was totally full of cars and I was stucked there for few mins without moving. My initial plan was to park in front of the shops behind Petronas Station at the opposite road, but seeing such traffic, I know there must be full already. When moving slowly in the roundabout, I saw policemen directing cars to park in the empty land inside the roundabout, so I turn into there also. After I parked my car, I follow the crowd and walk into the stadium. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk over there. I reached there about 6pm. The amount of people in the stadium is really a lot, and it's just 1 hour after the opening. I always thought most people will only go once and will not go again after they know what's going on there, but I was mistaken. Many people go there every year same like me.

After went in the stadium, I just simply walk around looking for friends who came also. However, it's really too many people and I can't find a single person that I know after so long. So, I went to queue up for some food, as I did not have my lunch. After that I message one of my friend that came for his location, so that I could meet up with him. The phone signal and internet is so poor, making message so difficult to send out and receive. After several messages, I managed to find my friend. I just hang around with him till the end of Bon Odori. My friend came with his family, and he was dressed with Jinbei while his sister dressed with Yukata. We went to dance in the crowd during the last session, and Bon Odori ended. After that, I walk all the way back to my car and start driving home. On the way home I also made a wrong turn and ended up paying 2 extra toll to u-turn.
